"The key is not to choose one view over the other, but to move between them with intent. That’s how we understand problems and that’s how we solve them." - Very important reminder for our Ummah
I’ve learned that the story of Musa (as) and Khidr (as) points to a similar idea. One played the role of idealist (Musa) while the other represented reality (Khidr).
It is very well said that a person in the problem cannot solve the problem. On the other hand, a competitor cannot make a just policy therefore a higher authority should give these principles and human should apply those principles with wisdom. Allah (SWT) has given all sorts of principles and policies that needs to be extracted with wisdom and applied on the society.
The metaphor of the 50,000-foot and the 1,000-foot perspectives is indeed powerful: philosophy provides the compass, while practice provides the map. Yet within the Islamic intellectual tradition, there is an altitude even higher than philosophy - the height of a purified heart and a disciplined soul. Without cybernetics of consciousness, without the continual ascent and descent between maqāṣid, institutional realities, and inner self-examination - philosophy easily becomes utopian rhetoric, and policy becomes a mere instrument of power. Our challenge today is to cultivate an ulū al-albab: individuals capable of soaring high in meaning, landing firmly on the ground of real-world execution, and walking steadfastly upon the path of ihsān.
We are no longer living in a resource scarce world, there’s enough to share. We are however, living in a capitalistic one entirely controlled by some very greedy individuals, and as we are seeing now, depraved.
The problem now is one of global distribution, which requires new infrastructure, for which new technology does now exist btw (Paranet). Access to opportunity should also be a fundamental goal, not Western philanthropy & banking systems.
But srsly, until every single person on this planet at least has the ability to take a private hot shower, I don't understand why anyone would even want to be buying private rocket ships for personal use. To go where? With whom?
But is the game rigged from the get-go? And are make-shift and grassroot solutions in a world of demagogues and dictatorships sufficient to counterbalance the global push to dystopian transhumanism, and international nuclear cataclysm? The perfect plan in the hands of the irresponsible will always faulter. The true solution is Shariah, but man is ever hasty and short-sighted and ungrateful to his Lord, rushing into collusion with Taghut manipulators of the worst ilk. May Allah SWT protect us from becoming compromisers and sympathizers in the face of Western Intellectual Sophistry, whose only intention is to bolster it's own machinations and not the Deen of Allah SWT. Interesting article nonetheless!

There should be more talk in the Muslim community about 1000 ft level altitude.
Awesome post! Thanks

Thing global, act local.
Such a great substack find! 🙌
