Prof. Kaminski argues that Islamic and Liberal legal systems operate from fundamentally different starting points, leading to differences in their purpose, scope, and conceptualization of justice. While acknowledging superficial similarities in their commitment to principles like the rule of law, he stresses that the underlying methodologies and ontological frameworks remain distinct.
